A Fun Fact About
Show Low, AZ

Show Low was named by the turn of a card. Two early settlers, Corydon Cooley and his partner, Marion Clark, ranched in the area in the 1870’s. The two men decided to dissolve the partnership by a card game of “Seven Up.” As the marathon game went on through the night, Clark finally told Cooley, “show low and the ranch is yours.” Cooley turned over the deuce of clubs and replied “show low it is” and won the 100,000 acre ranch. Show Low got its name from that card game and Show Low's main street is named "Deuce of Clubs" in remembrance.
