A Fun Fact About
Valley County/Meadows Valley, ID
Built in 1937 as a winter pastime for local forest workers, The Little Ski Hill has been in operation over 76 years and has produced 22 national champions and 6 Olympic athletes, one of whom was named a U.S. team captain for his final games at Calgary in 1988 and carried the flag into the opening ceremonies. It has also hosted 5 national competitions and continues to host USA Snowboard Association Rail Jams. The hill is the venue for the afterschool ski program, where kids rule the slopes. Modest ticket prices and scholarship programs both subsidized by local non-profits afford children the opportunity to participate in winter sports.
